I recently discovered an interesting solution to a youngster who hated to write. Our son really wanted to learn to write cursive, which we really weren’t planning to teach. His printing was so awful, we wanted to focus on improving it a bit first. However, we finally relented and were amazed at how he now actually finds reasons to write stories, notes, lessons, spelling words, thank-you cards, etc. in order to ‘practice’ his cursive writing skills. Another bonus — his cursive writing is much more legible than his printing and he writes much faster. Has anyone else had this experience?
